I do like to be beside the seaside…
Today has been such a lovely day for a wedding! But, whilst there were a number of weddings taking place across Devon today (and Laurence was at one of them – that of Jon & Rachel at Dartington Hall at Totnes), luckily for me, I’m over by the seaside in Budleigh Salterton for the huge birthday celebration of Flora McKinney & Joanne Saunders.

The Djs were setting up as we arrived to set up the booth in the huge marquee located at the back of the house. After deciding on the perfect spot for the photo booth – one where the slope wasn’t too dramatic but still a slope – we got the booth up to some old school reggae tunes. Perfect! We met Flo & Jo for the first time and Flo made Laurence a nice cup of tea. So nice! 🙂
At about 7pm the guests began to arrive wearing fabulous masquerade masks as well as evening dress – as things looked, this party was elegance personified. The music was banging, the atmosphere buzzing and the champagne and canapes began doing the rounds.
Party people in the photo booth.
Just before 8pm, the photo booth stepped into action and everyone showed their appreciation of it immediately. In other words, they loved it!!
The hog roast was ready half way into the night and everyone loved that too! And then, before I knew it, it was 11pm and time to close the booth and pack away.
The party keeps going … even while I pack away.
What a lovely surprise…. at the end of my shift (but by no means the end of the party,) whilst packing up I was in a state of shock when Joanne’s sister Katie approached me offering help to carry all the gear up to the van. This never ever happens as everyone is having such a good time they don’t usually even notice we are packing away – or notice we have gone. Katie convinced me asserting that she’s a strong rugby player and boy, it didn’t take long when I watched her lifting my heavy bags as though they were light as a feather. Hooray the girls!! 🙂
Happy 18th Jo & Flo!
