Mr & Mrs Hudson – Just married!

Last Saturday – the eve of British Summertime we poodled over to an almost puddle-free Somerset. Summertime couldn’t have come at a better time as it was all sun & smiles for the lovely wedding of Ed & Cara Hudson at the Mill on the Brue.

Tempted by the zip line (the venue, as well as offering a perfect wedding location, is a popular outdoors activities retreat for the adventurous!) we managed to resist and took in the views around the Mill as we unloaded. We heard rumours that there was a parrot with the wedding party a situation that seemed to be putting the venue’s 2 cats in a good mood!

But I digress… back to telling you about the big night! We were strategically situated between the candy trolley and the wedding cakes (yes, I said ‘cakes’, I counted 5! It was a display fitting of the final of the Great British Bake-off – Mary Berry would have been proud!) – so you couldn’t miss us! We did our best not to be too distracted from the job in hand – and we managed it – JUST! It was really nice getting to meet Ed & Cara’s wedding guests.

The venue was really really nice – the reception was held at the stunning Longhouse at the Mill, where I keenly observed some big white fluffy clouds – but it was okay as the clouds were made of felt and they were hanging from the ceiling. This is definitely a venue for people who like things a bit different and enjoy originality.A massive thanks to Matt, Paul and the team for helping us with our set-up within a small window of opportunity setting up time between the wedding breakfast and the start of the evening reception! We got there!! It was great to meet you and we hope to see you again soon!

One of the enjoyable things about the photobooth business is the chance to travel to a previously unknown destination taking in the sights as we go. Those around our 3 counties of Somerset, Devon and Cornwall boast some of the best in the country. We love this part of the world and are started to get really familiar with it thanks to recent parties we’ve worked at including Sexey’s School, the Mill@Rode, Haynes Motor Museum at Sparkford and Jane & John’s at Street. Taking in Yeovil and Glastonbury, this lovely part of Somerset would make for a really nice holiday destination and is a perfect rural location for a wedding.

A very big thanks to Ed & Cara for booking our white photo booth for your lovely wedding. Enjoy your special future together!

Curries, cupcakes & comedy ears! John & Jane’s grooooov-y Ruby Do!

ruby do

It wouldn’t be a Saturday night without a party to go to and last Saturday was no different as off we poodled down to a pretty little town in Somerset called Street for our evening’s engagement – that of John & Jane’s Ruby Anniversary do!

Our party hosts, John & Jane Woods, were at the venue, the Wessex Hotel, seeing to the final arrangements when we arrived and it wasn’t long before we discovered what warm and friendly couple they are.

When things got going, around a hundred and fifty family & friends flowed in clutching gifts, children and grandchildren as well as bringing with them huge dollops of fun as many were totally game for a laugh and took to working the groovy VW campervan photo booth like seasoned professional photoboothers!

This was a party to remember – as no detail was left unturned! This party even had the 3 c’s – curries, cupcakes and the launch of our amazing giant comedy ears!!

Congratulations John & Jane and thank you for having us at your Ruby Do, (and for feeding us – you were very kind! x )

A great night at the Devon Children in Care Awards 2014 ceremony!

Devon County Council

Last Friday we were asked to bring our brand new OMG photo booth to the annual Children in Care awards at St James School in Exeter. What a night!!! The moment the doors opened till the very last dip into the chocolate fountain, the night was bursting with fun and entertainment.

As well as dressing up in our fancy dress and enjoying our new ‘sit-down’ photo booth, young people and their carers were treated to incredible face painting, magic, juggling workshops and balloon sculpturing. All I can say is there was never a dull moment and as entertaining for us as it was – I’m sure – for the guests! The atmosphere was brilliant and we met loads of really lovely people.

Thank you Anna Rowsell for booking us for your brilliant do!  Caz and Laurence

If you would like to book a photo booth for your event and put smiles on your guests’ faces, please call us on 0800 7720325 or email us via the events enquiry page on our website. We’ll look forward to hearing from you.

Jade & Aaron get married!

Jade and Aaron

Last Saturday night, Jade & Aaron Searl booked our white photo booth for the delight of their guests at their lively wedding reception at the gorgeous Moorland Garden Hotel in the Dartmoor National Park in Devon. What a night!!! Booked for 4 hours, the booth focused, flashed and printed like a trojan until the stroke of midnight, when just like Cinderella, away it went leaving a slipper behind – or rather slippers, which didn’t actually belong to the booth (they were too small!) but to the bride Jade !

It’s always really humbling to receive generous feedback for our special version of photo booth service from our bride and groom, Jade & Aaron. This is the email we received from them today…

“Hi Laurence and Caz, We had an absolutely incredible time on Saturday – thank you so much for being part of our special day. Everyone at the wedding loved the photo booth – they had such great fun! I would definitely recommend Yellowbooth because your professionalism, attitude and enthusiasm is fantastic! You provide a quality service that guarantees to put a smile on everyone’s face! Thank you SO much! Jade and Aaron Searl!!”

A lovely wedding at magical Mullion Cove in Cornwall!

Last Saturday, we packed up our glam VW campervan photo booth and hit the A30 heading for the petite SW Cornish seaside village of Mullion -for our very first wedding of 2014.

Equipped with umbrellas, waterproofs & gummy boots, no one was more surprised than us to find the rain had stopped in time for our happy couple Hayley & Mike’s wedding ceremony at the arty Polurrian Bay Hotel. We had a great time watching everyone enjoy the booth and chatting to the guests throughout the night. Laurence  threw a few disco moves – as is traditional when attending parties –  I do try to curb him but I’ve come to the conclusion that he’s un-curbable!

Thank you to wedding coordinator Claire and her team at the hotel for making us feel so welcome.

Now for a bit of travel info… Anyone visiting Cornwall’s westerly beauty spots should check out Mullion for its stunning cliffs, lovely beaches and possibly the best fish & chip shop/restaurant in England – The Galleon.

Congratulations Mr & Mrs Wells! Thank you for booking us for your big day!

If you would like to book us for your upcoming special occasion please call us on 0800 772 0325. We look forward to hearing from! Laurence & Caz
